WELL OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Well Operations Technician to support safe and efficient well operations across offshore production facilities.
The role will be responsible for operating and monitoring wellheads, Christmas trees, flowlines and associated production equipment, while supporting well start-ups, shut-ins, testing, reinstatement and production optimization activities.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on offshore production experience, a solid understanding of well integrity and operating barriers, and the ability to identify and respond appropriately to abnormal well and production conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wellheads, Christmas trees, flowlines and associated production equipment.
- Conduct routine wellhead inspections, pressure monitoring, valve checks and leak detection activities.
- Monitor well and annulus pressures and identify abnormal operating conditions.
- Support well start-up, shut-in, reinstatement, testing and production optimization activities.
- Assist with well intervention, well integrity remediation and pressure-testing activities.
- Carry out routine checks to confirm the condition and functionality of wellhead and production equipment.
- Identify production abnormalities and support troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Participate in Permit-to-Work (PTW) activities and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) where applicable.
- Maintain accurate well status, operational logs, inspection records and shift handover documentation.
- Communicate well and equipment conditions effectively during shift handovers and operational meetings.
- Support emergency response activities and comply with established offshore emergency procedures.
- Escalate abnormal pressures, leaks, equipment defects and other operational concerns promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Production Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong upstream Exploration & Production (E&P) exposure.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience in offshore well and production operations.
- Practical experience with wellheads, Christmas trees, flowlines, production equipment and well monitoring activities.
- Good understanding of well integrity, well barriers and pressure control principles.
- Valid BOSIET/HUET certification and offshore medical fitness.
- Relevant well-control and H₂S certification is desirable.
- Good working knowledge of HSE requirements, operational controls, procedures and technical documentation.

- Participate in toolbox talks, pre-job meetings, safety observations and relevant risk assessments.
- Maintain required offshore medical, safety and professional certifications throughout the assignment.
- Follow approved operating procedures and applicable regulatory and industry standards.
- Support a strong safety culture by maintaining good housekeeping, effective communication and disciplined operating practices.
