About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Planner / Activity Planner to support the planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of project and operational activities within an upstream oil and gas environment.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain integrated activity, project, and operational schedules, coordinate planning inputs across multidisciplinary teams, monitor progress and schedule performance, and provide timely information to support effective project and operational decision-making.

The role requires strong planning and scheduling expertise, excellent analytical and coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple interfaces, constraints, and competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update integrated activity, project, and operational schedules.
  • Coordinate planning inputs from Wells, Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, Contracts & Procurement, and technical teams.
  • Track critical path activities, milestones, look-ahead plans, constraints, and schedule variances.
  • Facilitate planning meetings, schedule reviews, readiness reviews, and coordination sessions.
  • Maintain action, risk, interface, and constraint registers and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, schedule forecasts, and management updates.
  • Analyze schedule performance and recommend appropriate recovery actions where required.
  • Support resource loading, shutdown and maintenance planning, and multidisciplinary interface management.
  • Monitor planned versus actual progress and highlight emerging delays, dependencies, and operational risks.
  • Support project teams in developing realistic and achievable activity plans.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong upstream E&P exposure.
  • Proven experience in project planning, activity planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting.
  • Demonstrable experience working in comparable project or operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, planning processes, operational controls, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent certification is desirable.
  • Relevant planning, project controls, or scheduling certifications will be an added advantage.

Technical Expertise

The successful candidate should demonstrate practical and recent experience in:

  • Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Integrated activity and project planning.
  • Critical path analysis and schedule management.
  • Progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Schedule variance analysis and recovery planning.
  • Interface and constraint management.
  • Resource loading and activity sequencing.
  • Shutdown and maintenance planning.
  • Risk-based planning and schedule risk management.
  • Planning dashboards, reports, and management presentations.

  • Identify and highlight safety-related constraints, risks, and dependencies that may affect planned activities.
  • Stop or escalate unsafe work practices or conditions where identified.
  • Promptly report incidents, near misses, operational constraints, and issues that may affect safe project execution.
  • Maintain accurate planning and operational records to support safe and effective execution.
  • Maintain all required professional, safety, and role-specific certifications throughout the assignment.
