MATERIAL HANDLER – ONNE (SENIOR TECHNICIAN)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and technically competent Material Handler – Onne (Senior Technician) to support the safe, efficient, and reliable handling and management of oilfield materials and equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the receipt, inspection, identification, preservation, storage, movement, and issuance of materials and equipment, ensuring proper documentation, traceability, inventory accuracy, and safe warehouse operations.
The role requires strong hands-on materials handling and warehouse experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced oil and gas logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, identify, preserve, store, and issue oilfield materials and equipment.
- Verify material quantities, condition, identification, specifications, and supporting documentation against approved records.
- Support loading and offloading, lifting, packing, preservation, and safe movement of materials within warehouse and logistics areas.
- Maintain accurate bin locations, stock records, material traceability, and warehouse documentation.
- Coordinate materials required for offshore and project mobilization, dispatch, demobilization, and returns.
- Ensure materials are stored appropriately and protected against damage, deterioration, contamination, or loss.
- Monitor material condition and preservation requirements and report issues promptly.
- Identify and report shortages, damages, discrepancies, incorrect documentation, and preservation concerns.
- Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping and safe material handling practices.
- Support inventory counts, stock verification, and reconciliation activities as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- HND, Bachelor’s Degree, or relevant technical/logistics qualification.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong upstream E&P exposure.
- Proven hands-on experience in comparable warehouse, logistics, materials handling, or oilfield operating environments.
- Strong knowledge of material handling procedures, warehouse operations, inventory controls, and technical documentation.
- Forklift, rigging, or lifting certification is desirable.
- Relevant logistics, warehouse, or materials management certification will be an added advantage.

The successful candidate should demonstrate practical and recent experience in:
- Oilfield materials handling and logistics.
- Warehouse and inventory control.
- Material identification, coding, and traceability.
- Material receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance.
- Material preservation and storage requirements.
- Loading, offloading, packing, and safe material movement.
- Lifting and rigging awareness.
- Offshore and project material mobilization and returns.
- Stock verification and reconciliation.
- Warehouse documentation and record keeping.
- HSE compliance and warehouse housekeeping.

- Follow approved procedures for material handling, lifting, rigging, loading, offloading, storage, and warehouse movement.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and approved material-handling equipment.
- Maintain safe and orderly warehouse and material storage areas.
- Stop or escalate unsafe work practices, damaged equipment, or hazardous conditions.
- Promptly report incidents, near misses, damaged materials, equipment defects, and abnormal operating conditions.
- Maintain all required medical, safety, technical, and professional certifications throughout the assignment.
